Crowding

Overjet
Clear aligners aid in aligning teeth in the upper and lower jaws by correcting overjet problems – a condition where the upper front teeth extend too far forward in relation to the lower teeth. Invisible aligners apply gentle, continuous longitudinal pressure, needing the individual to wear each aligner for a specified amount of time, to improve function and aesthetics of the bite over time.
How the Invisible Brace System Works
Consultation
When you arrive at our ProAligners clinic, you will meet with our dentist for a consultation. We will discuss your goals, issues and concerns and will address every question you have. During this time we will review your current oral health status to identify any concerns to first address before any straightening can take place (for example – gum disease or tooth decay). We will then confirm whether you need any detailed straightening treatment with other orthodontic treatments. From all the information we have gathered during your consultation, we can confirm if you are a suitable candidate for ProAligners. We will present a detailed plan, including transparent pricing, for your treatment. Once agreed, we will scan your teeth and then schedule your next appointment.
Digital Scan & Plan
With the scan of your teeth we then produce an accurate digital image of your smile, displaying what it will look like at every stage of treatment. The digital technology allows us to create custom aligners for you, so when you are satisfied with the digital illustration we can create your bespoke ProAligners.
Wear Your Aligners
We will inform you once your set of unique ProAligners are ready. At that stage, you will need to wear them for a minimum of 22 hours per day, taking them out only for meals and brushing your teeth. You’ll switch to a new set of aligners every 1–2 weeks, with progress checks scheduled periodically with our dentists.
Final Adjustments
Following the completion of your ProAligner treatment, there is a final adjustment stage where we will ensure you have achieved the best results possible. We may ask that you wear some additional aligners for a short duration to confirm the teeth are in exactly the right position.
Retention
The final stage of treatment is about the future of your smile. You have invested time, energy and money to get your teeth into the perfect position, and unfortunately, it is unlikely to remain that way without some support. For that reason, we recommend retainers. You can choose removable or permanent retainers based on your needs and preferences.
